Baker Design Build (BDB) provides general contracting, construction management, trade work, design/build and consulting services to its clients in the New York City Area. From small renovations to large-scale building projects, BDB works closely with its clients, architects, and subcontractors to ensure that each project is completed in a manner that meets or exceeds the clients’ objectives.

BDB believes that an integral part of its mission is to educate its clients on how they can best incorporate renewable resources in their projects to promote a healthier lifestyle, minimize the environmental impact, and maximize the economic benefits. As part of its commitment to building green, BDB has also created the Green Roofs Project which is designed to transform barren roofs into thriving urban farms. BDB designs/builds these spaces and works with local providers to create urban farms on the roofs of both commercial and residential buildings.

Ronald Baker
Ronald Baker has been a general contractor for over 15 years. His projects range from condo renovation to ground up new construction. Ron's hands-on experience gives him a deeper understanding of the inter-dependency of systems and the importance of high quality in construction.

Conscientious contracting involves an understanding of the full lifecycle of materials and of their impact on the environment and the end user. Contractors and architects can select materials that create a safer and healthier living environment. Quality construction begins with a well thought-out plan and careful selection of materials; and is defined by high quality craftsmanship and attention to detail throughout every aspect of the project.

Walking through the fields of rural Jamaica, Ronald Baker knew at very young age the beauty that is in simplicity; and that beauty can only be achieved fully by working with our environment. Ronald's passion for sustainability comes not from the headlines but from his love for the serenity and peaceful beauty of nature, which he works to preserve for our future generations.

As a little inventor for his family, his problem-solving skills were nurtured not by looking into books but by observing the way things work, understanding the nature of logic and using what was available. Little did he know that this humble beginning of his life would provide a huge asset in the field of design and construction. Rather than opting for a cookie-cutter method of building, he starts his project by listening to the clients' needs. He believes that each home should be unique to its owner and that it is his job to find the way to make the client's ideas and dreams into a reality.
